Old Hand Painted Gaudy Welsh Pottery Plates Old Staple Repair
Product Description: This three-piece collection of old Gaudy Welsh dinner plates are for a true collector of old china. Inspired by the Imari ware style color palette, this pattern features vibrant cobalt blue, russet, orange with areas of green, pink and a touch of yellow on a creamy white background. One plate has been repaired using the early 1800s repair technique of stapling. Two staples have been used on the back to mend the cracks. Most likely the plate was truly treasured to repair a plate in this condition. Additional collection of two are from the same pattern and era, however sizes vary and unique in their own way. This trio is not perfect with chips and cracks, although a fine representation of early china from the Mid-19th century.
