Antique White Ironstone Covered Vegetable Tureen Burgess & Goddard
Description: This charming white ironstone covered vegetable tureen in the Plain Uplift pattern by Burgess & Goddard is simple yet beautiful. It’s a rather nice size measuring 12 ½” long which include handles and 10 inches tureen top only. It’s a hefty, solid piece of ironstone weighing just over 4 pounds with an exterior and interior glazed body. The body features a slight bulbous shape with two side handles which slightly curve upward. A classy, simple vegetable tureen which could be combined with many other white ironstone patterns.

Condition: Previously owned - used. Over 130 years old. Condition is consistent with age and use. Considered good condition. Light crazing is present, mostly seen on lid and around handle. Wear and discoloration to handles, areas of lid rim, oval base and tip of finial on lid handle. One ¼ indentation on edge of lid which we will call a chip although appears to be glazed over. Three stilt marks which can be seen on the inside bottom from the making of the tureen. Please refer to photographs.
