Antique English Ironstone Dinner Plates Purple Transferware EON Pattern Set of 2
Product Description: Expertly crafted by George Wooliscroft of Staffordshire, England during the mid-1850s, this set of two 9 ¾” dinner plates in the in the “Eon” pattern showcases the early purple color transfer of an intricate windmill countryside landscape scene in the center with six cartouches from the original pattern of either a windmill or people with animals of repeating pattern around the 12-sided round edge. On the backside,, it bears an early English Registry mark with the makers name.

Condition: Previously owned - used. Condition is commensurate with age & use. No cracks. One ¼ chip to backside edge of one plate (as shown). All-over crazing is present on front and back. Glaze pops, imperfections in the form of a 2” white line within pattern, one on each plate which appears to be from the making, as it is glazed over. One is on scene, other on cartouche. Stilt marks in the form of a triangle on back of both plates from the making of the pottery. Light wear to back and rim. Over 170 years old. Please refer to photographs.
Caution: Some antique and vintage pottery may contain lead in the glaze. This set has not been tested, therefore being sold for “decorative purposes”, not for food use.
