Product Description: From the mid-1800s, this ironstone Gravy Sauce Tureen with lid by Elsmore & Forster, Tunstall, Staffordshire, England showcases an early, English Ironstone timeless appearance. In the Tulip pattern with blue undertones and decorative double handles, it features a blue leaf motif, scrolls & bands. It bears an impressed company mark on the base; Elsmore & Foster (with a misspelled Forster name which has been documented and seen on additional pieces).

Condition:  Previously owned – used. Over 150 years old. Missing Ladle. All over crazing is present with darker discoloration/staining around lip of rim and base ring. Light discoloration and wear and rubbing on handles and rim under lid. No repairs to finial or handles. Tested - no leaks. One ¼” chip on base ring. One 1/4" chip on side of rim along with ½” hairline near each other. Still a strong, solid piece. Please refer to photograph as they are part of the description.
