Product Description: During the mid to late 1800s, this japanned tinware canister was crafted and decorated by a tinsmith, japanner and manufacture of canisters, tea chests and other japanned-ware from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania region. In black with gold gilt decoration, it features a pull-up lid and an embossed stamp; J. Hall Rohrman & Son Cherry St. Philadelphia. Very nice early collectible from the southeastern Pennsylvania region.

Condition: Previously owned - used. Condition is consistent with age and normal use. Lid functions as it should. Light indentation on front, sides, bottom with light scratches. Some wear to black japanned finish. Very good condition for age and use.
