Antique Large 12 inch White English Ironstone Pitcher J & G Meakin Early Mark c. 1851-1890
Description: During the Victorian era, Ironstone pitchers and basins were commonly seen in most homes. This beautiful, crisp, white ironstone pitcher pre-1890 was made by J & G Meakin, England.. It stands 12 1/4” tall with a simple yet elegant shape. It features a smooth white surface with a simple ½” band around the thumb rest area. The Royal Arms back stamp with lion couchant without the England stamp dates this pre-1890.

Condition: Previously owned - used. Condition is consistent with age and use. Beautiful smooth surface. No repairs or noticeable crazing. An area of light discoloration dots/nicks which can only be seen closely (as shown). On the bottom of footed base there is a ½”chip/slice and 1 ½” thin crack on an area of footed base (as shown in photograph). One small glaze pop on inside. No leakage or signs of further damage.
