Product Description: American Cutlery Company, Chicago, Illinois established around 1878, known for their high quality cutlery. During the early 1900’s the line expanded into kitchen scales. This fantastic kitchen counter scale by American Cutlery Co. is constructed of steel and retains much of its original paint. It showcases a fantastic brass open face with incised number and letters. What makes this one special is the brass adverting plaque with incised "American Cutlery Co". Early Americana style scales like this one are now becoming a challenge to come by. Give this nice, rustic scale with history, a home in your kitchen.

Condition: Previously owned – used. Condition is consistent with age and normal use. Functions and performs as it should. Platform is sturdy. Calibration knob functions, although top portion may be missing or broken off. Black stamped face does exhibit some wear to some numbers and words (as shown). Surface wear, scrapes, rust and areas of color loss and patina. Faded green surface, now greenish gray in color. This style scale does “not” come with a glass front.
