Vintage Wooden Document or Jewelry Box, Hinged Lid, 11" L

Description:   A simple, yet beautiful handcrafted box, once possibly used to hold small documents, photographs, jewelry or personal belongings.  In rectangular form with straight sides and a flat top, it is constructed of wood, nails and a hinged lid.  It has a front decorative latch and sits on four “v” shape corner feet.  Although this box is not perfect, it offers a wonderful appearance with a medium oak finish on four sides and top with natural patina.

Condition:   Previously owned - used.  Functional and useful.  Front latch is mainly decorative and does not offer a locking mechanism.  On the underside, one half of a “v” shape foot is broken off and missing with other half still attached, but loose. Another foot has been previously repaired with a dot of glue in the inner “v” area.  Surprisingly, chest is not unstable and does not wobble.  There is one split in bottom that goes through the wood, the length of the base. With this, piece still appears to be strong and functional (as shown).
