Antique Wooden Butter Mold Press Flower Plunger Style
Product Description: During the 19th into the 20th century butter print molds were highly used in farmhouse kitchens to give their butter more of a unique characteristic. This smaller size butter mold is impressed on a round piece of wood that features a floral design, a single flower on stem with leaves. It’s a plunger type that pulls up and presses down and housed in a dome shaped exterior case. It aged gracefully although has acquired some issues over the years which are noted under "Condition" below.

Condition: Previously owned – used. No cracks in cover or impressed flower design. Exterior cover does exhibit some staining and patina. Line marks on inside of cover. Most likely from the use of a butter knife when releasing butter from interior walls. Please note: The plunger on this butter mold is either permanently stuck or glued into the round disk. It does not come apart in three pieces for ease of cleaning. On the styles we have seen, it comes in a three piece design which the plunger unscrews from the print.
