Antique Mahogany Wooden Hanging Candle Box Unique Crest Late 1800's
Product Description: Candle boxes similar to this one were commonly used in homes to store candles before electricity. This early, slender candle box is stands 19 ½” tall with a rather unique shaped, pierced crest and offers a slanted double-hinged lid. The sleek body gradually tapers to the bottom and sits on a ¼” wooden base with a simple inlay on the face. The backing features lovely, dark, natural-aged patina.

Some time ago, there may have been a small repair in that area, although it does not appear to be recent. Still solid and functional.
