Antique B.F. Gravely Wooden Tobacco Sliding Lid Box Leatherwood, Virginia Late 1800s
Product Description: A spectacular, early wooden tobacco box with a sliding lid by B.F. Gravely, Leatherwood, Virginia circa 1877. In rectangular form with dark surface patina, it is constructed of wood with nails. On two long sides, B.F. Gravely advertising is printed in black with the back side print being upside down. One short side appears to be stamped with a number 312 with the other side not being legible. The box can be stood up on the side to showcase the wonderful advertising which is also on the bottom. A fantastic Americana Tobacciana collectible from B.F. Gravely & Sons.

Condition: Previously owned – used. Good condition. Sliding lid functions properly although there is a crack which goes down the length of the lid (as shown). Still functions as it is held together by two wooden braces. All nails appear to be original. Advertising in black print is mostly legible with areas of wear which are not. Box still appears to be strong being over 140 years old.
