Primitive Hand Carved Wooden Oil, Grease, Tar Carrier Wrought Iron Handle

Product Description:  This wooden vessel once used by Indian farmers during the 1800s to carry oil, grease or tar, is an authentic piece of history. Some may have used a box similar to store and carry tinder. This vessel is made of wood with thick hand-forged wrought iron hardware and a flatten iron bail handle which once could of easily hung on a cart or wagon. Primitive appearance with remnants of a tar like substance on the interior, possibly wood tar - pine tar. In those days, pin tar had many historical uses on the small farm. A must-have, primitive piece with exceptional character.
