Primitive Hand-Carved Ethiopian Wooden Milking Stool Jimma Culture

Description:  For primitive decorating, this original wooden milking stool is an excellent choice.  Most likely from a tribe in Ethiopia, Jimma culture, this piece was hand-carved from a solid piece of wood, most likely a block of tree trunk. It demonstrates exceptional character with a slightly convex seat which showcases the fine carvings and worn, weathered patina.  An interesting piece with history which should not be overlooked.

Condition:   Previously owned - used.  Good condition. Condition is consistent with age and use. No repairs. Scratches, scuffs and aged patina. A three inch split up the one leg although shows no signs of weakness due to the thickness and sturdiness of wood.  A five inch split on top of stool which carries around to the underneath about seven inches.  Again, surprisingly no signs of weakness, very strong for display purposes. Please refer to each photograph as they are part of the description. Due to age, this stool is being sold as an accent, not for use.
