Description: Early on, rye straw baskets like this one were commonly seen in many homes and farmsteads used for a variety of household purposes. This original basket from the was hand coiled and tightly woven from rye straw, held together with flexible oak strips. Looking good with aged character, this one is slightly out-of-round measuring 11 – 11 ¼ inches in diameter and 3 – 3 ½” in height.
