Product Description:  Using sponge bowls were common during the Victorian period.  Many kept their bathroom supplies such as sponge bowls, towel horses, washstands and chamber pots nearby in their bedroom. This 2 piece Crown Ducal sponge bowl and 5" matching tooth brush holder with an open mouth is in the Ascot transfer pattern by A.G. Richardson & Co Ltd – England. It boasts a colorful Chintz floral in pink, blue and yellow with green foliage, brown and a creamy white interior. 

Additional uses:  Sponge Bowl can be used a soap dish for holding small balls or block of soap. The Toothbrush Holder can double for a short stem vase for a window sill.

Condition:  Previously owned - used.  Overall very good condition.  No chips, nicks or cracks.  Inside is bright and shiny.  Sponge bowl is missing the lid.  Bottom of strainer has a few minor marks.  Toothbrush Holder/Vase is in excellent condition.
