Antique Hand Woven Wood Splint Market Basket w/ Bentwood Handle

Description:   Splint baskets similar to this one were once common for gathering vegetables, fruits, flowers and even groceries from the local market.  This American handcrafted split wood basket in a somewhat oval form, appears to be crafted with a few different woods.  In a nice larger size, smooth bentwood handle from years of use and natural patina, this basket would make an outstanding display piece.

Additional uses:  Dried flower basket, bathroom towel storage or table centerpiece.
